Dr. Elias P. Stack-Aguirre
Dr. Stack-Aguirre is a 2008 graduate of St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine, Grenada, West Indies. As a resident of S.L.O. county for nearly 30 years, Dr. Stack-Aguirre is also a graduate from Cuesta College and Cal Poly S.L.O.
Upon graduation from veterinary school, he was hired at Coast Veterinary Clinic where he worked as an associate veterinarian for 12 years. In June 2020, he along with his wife Dr. April M. Bessett, made the leap into practice ownership when they bought Coast Veterinary Clinic from long time owners Dr. John Truax and Dr. Duane Stephens.
Dr. Stack-Aguirre’s special interests include canine and feline dentistry, anesthesia, and soft tissue surgery.
He is a father to two wonderful boys, Elijah and William, and to his beloved cat, Meowky. In his free time, he is all about the outdoors: mountain biking, hiking, camping, and beach play.
Dr. April M. Bessett
Dr. Bessett is a 2008 graduate of St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine, Grenada, West Indies.
Upon graduation from veterinary school, she worked as an associate veterinarian at a local 24 hour veterinary care hospital for the past twelve years. She moved over to Coast Vet when she and her husband, Dr. Stack-Aguirre, purchased the practice in June of 2020.
Dr. Bessett’s special interests include dermatology, internal medicine, and clinical pathology.
She is an amazing mother to her two sweet boys, Elijah and William. Her cat Meowky loves waking her up at 5 am for breakfast and play time. An avid runner, April has completed countless marathons and half-marathons. When she isn’t working at Coast Veterinary Clinic, she enjoys time at the beach, hiking, race training and spending quality time with the family.
